St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
St Patrick’s Road, Wicklow Town. Post Catholic Emancipation (1829) church. Built in a totally Gothic style and dedicated by the then Archbishop of Dublin, Wicklow man, Daniel Murray. One of the largest churches in Europe with a self-supporting roof (no pillars).
Directions: From north Wicklow and Dublin, Follow the N11 southbound and take the Rathnew exit. Continue straight through both roundabouts and follow the road for approx. 2 km until arriving in Wicklow Town. Upon arriving continue straight passed the Grand Hotel and take the right turn at Delahunt’s Hardware Store. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is almost immediately on the left.
